Syndicates

We warmly welcome enthusiastic syndicates and regularly put together small groups of like-minded individuals to share in the ownership of top quality flat racing thoroughbreds. We enable our syndicate members to own a share in a racehorse and to enjoy racing at the highest level, without the very high costs associated with the sole ownership of racehorses.

For the cost of owning one racehorse outright, shareholders could enjoy ownership of multiple horses with all training fees paid through to the end of their three-year-old career; providing more action and a significantly greater chance of success.

We will keep in regular contact by telephone and email, sending photographs and videos of your horse’s progress, as well as arranging regular visits for you to watch your horse on the gallops and discuss its progress with Paul and Oliver.

A large part of Paul Cole’s success is down to the selection and purchase process of the horses.  Paul and Oliver will source the right horses at the best prices at the world’s principal Yearling Sales, from August to December and Breeze Up Sales from April to early May. The horses that we buy are unraced and ready to start their two-year-old career, with the flat racing season beginning in April.

Price is largely dictated by the pedigree of the horse – that is, what its immediate family has already achieved – as well as its looks, and while money has no guarantee of success, it certainly helps.

SHARE COST

We will be looking to purchase horses between £20,000 - £80,000.

Shares start from £1,000 per share plus VAT* (*this is reclaimed through the Weatherbys VAT Return Service and paid back to the shareholders).

We offer a maximum of twenty shares per horse - members are welcome to purchase more than one share.

Each syndicate will last for a minimum of two seasons.  Horses will typically be sold at the end of their three-year-old career, in the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale – unless it is thought that they can increase their capital value and win good prize money in subsequent seasons; this would be voted on by the syndicate members.

RUNNING COST (24 month commitment)

The running cost of one of our horses is £300 per month per share, to include:

•All-inclusive training fees, gallops, farrier, transport, vets, jockeys, registration fees, race entries.  (Bigger race entries will be paid for out of prize money won);

•Weatherbys All Risk Insurance;

•Management service, including a weekly email with news, entries, declarations, results and updates;

•Each Shareholder will receive two Owners and Trainers badges when their horse runs, further badges can be obtained for guests.  Owners and Trainers badges enable entry to the Paddock, putting you at the heart of the tactical discussion between the Trainer and Jockey.  All courses have facilities dedicated to Owners and Trainers, which will enhance your race going experience;

•A morning on the gallops with breakfast at Whatcombe and regular visits throughout the season.

Any money won or accrued will be divided equally between all shareholders at the end of the period.
